Nike came to my team and I asking for us to launch a children-specific colorway of Kevin Durant’s KD 9, titled the Roar From The Floor, in the Oakland metro area. Roar From The Floor represents Kevin Durant's journey of growing into confidence, and finding his voice through basketball. As the strategy lead I presented the team with different initiatives and activations by partnering with local Young Athletes, and some of Kevin Durant’s favorite places around the city to create an unforgettable experience. After a scavenger hunt around the city, the Young Athletes met KD, ran drills with Golden State Warriors trainers, and attended the Warriors game that night. The day not only provided the Oakland youth with new gear and an exciting day filled with sports and education; but also provided Nike and their Young Athlete social channels with really special content for a larger, digital impact.
